Information for Presenters

Oral Presentations

Getting ready for talks…

  1. All oral presentations should be made using Microsoft PowerPoint or PDF files.
  2. Presentations should not exceed 15 minutes, including 2 minutes for questions and 1 minute to switch to the next ppt file and introduce the next speaker.
  3. Your presentation file must be provided on a USB memory stick to the registration desk. For morning sessions, please load your talk the day before; for afternoon sessions, please load your talk before noon of that day.
  4. The filename should be:

Lastnameofpresenter_dayandtime_stream_session.ppt
Example: wahle_thursdayAM_stream1_ecology.ppt

Please do your utmost to follow these instructions to avoid technical and logistical problems. A computer will be available to check your presentation.

Before your talk…

  1. At the break before the session in which you are presenting, please find the session moderator and introduce yourself.  He or she will be reassured to know that you are there and can check details with you (e.g., the correct pronunciation of your name).
  2. Also take a moment at the break to learn how the laser pointer, slide changer and microphone work – they all are different!
  3. Please be present for the talk before yours even if your best friend is presenting next door. Indeed, it would be best to attend the entire session. If at all possible, please sit in the front row.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Poster Presentations

Poster cannot exceed:

 60
" W X  72" H  (it is suggested that you not exceed 60" H).
This corresponds to 152 cm W  by 183 cm H.

Note this is Portrait orientation.

Instructions for poster presenters...

Overview: Posters will be presented in the Tuesday Evening Poster Session to permit ample time for people to see your results. To promote interest in your research, we have a social on Tuesday evening with drinks and light snacks and a carving station.

Getting ready: Poster space available is on Sunday evening through Tuesday morning. Please check the program to see the specific number and location reserved for your poster. Velcro fasteners will be provided to secure posters to panels.

Presenting your poster: All presenting authors are expected to be with their posters to answer questions during the first half of the poster social (19:30 to 20:00). For those eligible for student awards, judging will occur during this period.

After the show: Posters should be left up for further viewing, including further assessment by judges. Posters should be reclaimed on Friday morning before 10:00 (we are not liable for any losses before or after this time).

Thanks for your cooperation.
